Depeche Mode “A Question of Time (Extended Remix)”
Depeche Mode “A Question of Time (Extended Remix)” 1986. UK import on Mute Records. 12″ single. B-side “Black Celebration (live),” “Something to Do (live)” and “Stripped (live)” recorded at the Birmingham N.E.C. on April 10, 1986.
The remix of “A Question of Time” is longer, of course, and also slightly faster in tempo than the version appearing on the album “Black Celebration.” On Side B “Black Celebration” and “Stripped” are live versions of tracks also appearing on “Black Celebration” while “Something to Do” is from Depeche Mode’s 1984 “Some Great Reward” LP. All four songs reflect the darker turn Depeche Mode began fermenting on “Some Great Reward,” successfully turning sunny new wave synth pop into a bleak industrial soundscape.
Run-off groove on Side 2 “Aviation aide excrement device”
