Depeche Mode “It’s Called A Heart”
Depeche Mode “It’s Called A Heart” 1985. 12″ single. Today July 23rd is Martin Gore’s birthday (b. 1961), founder, keyboardist and primary songwriter for Depeche Mode. “It’s Called A Heart” was released as a single just prior to the band’s fifth studio album “Black Celebration.” The 12″ has three versions of the song: the Emotion Mix, the Emotion Dub and the Single Version. “Flexible (Deportation Mix)” also appears on the 12″ on Side B and it’s a great, churning upbeat dance track.
Apparently “It’s Called A Heart” is not well-loved by the band: Gore and Alan Wilder have both stated it’s their least-favorite single. However it did reach #18 on the UK singles chart.
