Duran Duran “Nite Romantics” 1981. Japanese import on Toshiba EMI, 12″EP at 45 rpm. Side A: “Planet Earth (Night Version)” and “Khanada” Side B: “Fame” and “Girls on Film (Night Version).” The insert includes a band biography in Japanese text, with Duran Duran photography taken at the Rum Runner nightclub in Birmingham.
“Planet Earth (Night Version)” is a couple of minutes longer than the original single version, with a lot more saxophone and more rockin’ out Andy Taylor guitar. “Girls on Film (Night Version)” is also longer than the original, with altered production of the rhythm section and vocals. “Khanada” and “Fame” are the b-side tracks to the 12″ single of “Careless Memories.”
