Joe Strummer “Earthquake Weather”
Joe Strummer “Earthquake Weather” 1989. Strummer’s first solo release after the dissolution of The Clash. Earthquake Weather is not nearly filled with fiery excitement like most of The Clash’s work (we won’t talk about 1985′s Cut the Crap), but there are a few gems, including the stomping “King of the Bayou.” I think he goes a little too deep into tropical world music with “Island Hopping” which reminds me of sitting on the beach at sunset in the Bahamas – lovely and relaxing, but not lit up with Strummer-passion.
