Kissing the Pink “Kissing the Pink” 12 inch EP. 1983. I think I maybe listened to this once after picking it up sometime in the mid-80′s, likely from the cutout bin at New Frontier Record Exchange in Appleton, WI because it was cheap and I liked the cover (the sculpture pictured is by Andre Wallace). The EP features smooth electro synth pop new wave from the British band Kissing the Pink (who later shortened their innuendo-ladened name to KTP) and includes the single “Maybe This Day,” their first to chart in the US, at #87. That song, as well as three others, “Watching Their Eyes,” “Big Man Restless” and “Love Lasts Forever” (also released as a single), all appear on KTP’s debut Naked. The EP’s final track, “We Are Your Family” is the b-side to “Maybe This Day” and is my favorite: hypnotic and trance-dancey.
