Eurythmics “Touch” released either on tomorrow’s date, November 26th, 1983 or November 14th, 1983 (conflicting internet info!). Because I will be stuffing my face with cranberry sauce and pie tomorrow at Thanksgiving dinner and not blogging, I’m featuring this Eurythmics album today.

Touch was the first album to be released in the US simultaneously on vinyl and CD; it went to #1 in the UK and #7 in the US. “Here Comes the Rain Again” is my favorite track. It hit #4 on the US Billboard chart after its January ‘84 single release. I have fond and somewhat bleary memories of waking up at midnight to watch Friday Night Videos on network TV in the hopes of seeing a Duran Duran video. The video for “Here Comes the Rain Again” would inevitably play while I shivered in the dark – the video’s cold, stark images a perfect complement to my circumstance.
