The Cure “Arabian Dream”

The Cure “Arabian Dream” 1985. Duck Production Records. Unofficial, limited edition fan club release. Rare outtakes and live recordings from the Concert era (1984). It starts with a new-to-me version of “Boys Don’t Cry (outtake)” that is startling – good, but really odd with a tinny/pop production (and unfortunately not available that I could find online). Then comes a couple of tracks from Faith (1981):“Drowning Man,” live recordings of “Other Voices,” that is gorgeously dark and menacing, and “Funeral Party.” Side 1 ends with the live “Descent,” the b-side to “Primary” (also on Faith). Side B has three tracks, “A Forest” (from Seventeen Seconds, 1980), “Killing an Arab” (The Cure’s first single, 1978) and a long live recording of “Faith.”
Daily (maybe) pulls from the vault: 33-1/3, 45, 78, old, older, classic, new, good, bad. Subjective. Autobiographical. Occasionally putting a record up for sale.
