The Dead Weather “I Cut Like a Buffalo”
The Dead Weather “I Cut Like a Buffalo” 2009. Third Man Records, limited 500 pressing. This 12″ single was the sixth release (TMR 006) on Jack White’s Third Man Records after the label moved from its ephemeral location in Detroit to a tangible location in Nashville in 2009. It’s single-sided, the B-side blank save for the etching of the Third Man logo.
“I Cut Like a Buffalo” was the third single from The Dead Weather’s debut album Horehound and though primarily sung by the Kills’ Alison Mosshart, Jack White’s vocals are mostly up front for this track (it is also the only song to be written solely by White on the album). The single’s 7″ counterpart does have a traditional B-side, the riff-heavy raucous track “A Child of a Few Hours Burning to Death.”
Daily (maybe) pulls from the vault: 33-1/3, 45, 78, old, older, classic, new, good, bad. Subjective. Autobiographical. Occasionally putting a record up for sale.
