The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion “Son of Sam”
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion “Son of Sam” b/w “Bent.” In The Red Records, 1992 (not 1977 though that is what Side A’s label says), part of In The Red’s Blues Explosion Jukebox Series of 7″ singles. Both tracks appear on ITR’s collection of singles Jukebox Explosion from 2007 and a live version of “Son of Sam” is part of the 1997 Controversial Negro: Live in Tuscon LP. It’s young JSBX: noisy, messy and amazing. Here is a video of “Son of Sam” from 1992 and oh my goodness they look SO YOUNG.
Daily (maybe) pulls from the vault: 33-1/3, 45, 78, old, older, classic, new, good, bad. Subjective. Autobiographical. Occasionally putting a record up for sale.
