The Murder City Devils “Dancing Shoes”
The Murder City Devils “Dancing Shoes” b/w “Tokyo Gold” 1998, Die Young Stay Pretty Records. Blistering garage punk, heavy gravelly growls and even heavier beats. “Dancing Shoes” appears on MCD’s second album, Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts on SubPop Records, which Allmusic reviewer describes as “thick and chunky rock.”
Here is a live version of “Dancing Shoes” performed at The Mohawk Austin; I don’t know what year but it’s obviously a more recent concert by the decidedly dad-look singer Spencer Moody is sporting. But he still rocks almost as hard as he did in the late 90′s, when he sported the more college computer nerd look, which you can see in a different live performance of “Dancing Shoes.”
Daily (maybe) pulls from the vault: 33-1/3, 45, 78, old, older, classic, new, good, bad. Subjective. Autobiographical. Occasionally putting a record up for sale.
