The Weeks “Comin’ Down”
The Weeks “Comin’ Down” 2019. Romanus Records, very limited edition (50 copies) “coffee and cream” variant (it’s literally filled with coffee and creamer). “Comin’ Down” is the lead single from The Weeks’ new album, Two Moons, which dropped last weekend (and I’m waiting excitedly for my copy, also from Romanus Records which will be the world’s first glow-in-the-dark sand filled LP). “Comin’ Down” is a great, hard-driving, southern-tinged track from the Mississippi indie rockers who got together over 10 years ago; I believe Two Moons is their fifth LP. Backing “Comin’ Down” is the song “Paper Mache Houses,” a beautiful, anthemic, slightly psychedelic and jangly song that has already made into one of my playlists that I use for my yoga classes. On the strength of these two tracks on one amazing custom 7 inch single, I’m eager to hear the rest of the record when it arrives.
Daily (maybe) pulls from the vault: 33-1/3, 45, 78, old, older, classic, new, good, bad. Subjective. Autobiographical. Occasionally putting a record up for sale.
